Well, right now on the Democratic side things are looking very good for Hillary. At this point I would be stunned if she didn't get the nomination although a lot can happen between now and nomination time. On the Republican side, my personal choice would be Mitt Romney. Of all the potential candidates he is the most "Reaganesque" which is obviously a positive for a Republican. I am not sure how the conservative wing will respond to him but he definitely looks like a strong Presidential candidate. Rudy Giuliani will have the same problem with conservatives. McCain has strayed to far off the reservation. Bill Frist is too wishy-washy. His fellow senators Allen and Santorum are good candidates but Santorum may be too conservative for the general election. Condi Rice needs to have more election or political experience although if Cheney steps down for health or political reasons i.e. to open up the spot for Rice, then two or three years as Vice President may be enough to fill in those holes in Condi's background. So right now it looks like Romney, Allen or Rice for the Republicans. If Rice is not Vice-President by then, the odds are probably too long for her. Allen may be too much of a dark-horse as he is not one of the most prominent members of the U.S Senate. Process of elimination leaves Romney as the best choice. Mitt Romney for President!
